X Bandanas - SOLD OUT in 4 shows!

As I wrote in my last post, I had the good fortune to design a bandana for the legendary punk band X

I delivered them in time for the four live shows they had booked in southern California in early May, three of which were with Los Lobos and The Blasters. (What a lineup.)  The bandanas were a hit, and sold out by the end of the last show.

Here are some friends & X fans wearing their X bandanas:

Designing a Bandana for X

Since the bandana I designed for John Doe has been so popular, it made perfect sense that X needed a bandana.

I pitched the idea to their manager & he loved it, so I set out to make a bandana design worthy of such an iconic band.  I used motifs from their xeroxed songbooks that they've sold at concerts in the past.  I've also always wanted a piece of merch with all their names on it, since they have the coolest names.

Their manager asked for two colorways. I sourced a local printer & cotton bandanas made in the USA.  The results are super soft.

I am very tempted to make a zine of the different ways to wear this bandana.  My friend Annie was playing around with it and came up with these styles.

I accidentally got the skull to show in the knot the other day, and if you wear it bandito style around your neck you can sport the logo front & center.

If you're headed to any of X's shows with Los Lobos & The Blasters this week, get to the merch booth because I'm expecting these to sell out!

PRE-ORDER The Golden State tee

Last weekend my friend Katie who owns Solid Gold in Austin sent me this photo of three girlfriends looking fresh in the SOLID GOLD TEXAS tees I designed:

I've designed variations of this tee for Solid Gold, Atomic Garden Oakland and Wrong Marfa, and they've all sold really well.  I get comments from ladies saying it's their go-to shirt, and I get emails asking how people can buy one when they're sold out in other shops.

So when John Doe asked me to make a version for his song (our song) "The Golden State," I thought it was a great idea.  It's an ode to the great state of California, but also to feeling golden where ever you find yourself.

You can pre-order yours in the Featherweight shop.  Get ready for your favorite tee of the summer.
